The University of Sunderland is a university located in Sunderland in the North East of England. The university has 17,101 students, including 2,695 international students from 118 countries. 

​Sunderland was one of six universities to be short-listed for ‘University of the Year’ in the Times Higher Education Supplement Awards 2012. It was also highlighted for its ‘Outstanding Student Experience’ in the 2010 Times Higher Education awards.

 

The University has two campuses in Sunderland: the Sir Tom Cowie Campus by the sea, and City Campus in Sunderland’s city centre. It has invested more than £130m on our campuses in recent years, to ensure that University of Sunderland facilities match the quality of its courses, which are underpinned by excellent teaching ratings. A third campus has recently been opened in London at Canary Wharf, the heart of Europe’s most important financial centre.
